Udupi: BJP protests against corruption, irregularities of CMC

Udupi, Jun 29: The local unit of the BJP staged a protest against corruption and irregularities of the city municipality on Saturday June 28 in front of the CMC office, Udupi.


Former MLA Raghupati Bhat, said, “The CMC president is working as per the directions of the MLA.” He urged the opening of a discussion regarding malpractice of tender schedule and desired the calling up of re-tender. “MLA Pramod Madhwaraj should not intervene in the CMC general meeting,” he added.

Bhat also demonstrated video footage of the irregularities to the gathering.

Former president of CMC Gujjadi Prabhakar Naik criticized the CMC administration and said, “The commissioner did not submit any report on emergency execution of works. The commissioner is an independent authority to provide response and there is no need for any interruption from the middle man.”

Naik further said, “The commissioner is not a slave of CMC members. Tender application is now saleable.” He also condemned the attitude of the projector director wanted to take accurate deliverance in the session meeting.

BJP leaders Dr M R Pai, former municipal president, Dinakar Shetty Herga, Narasimha Nayak, Geetha Shet, Kiran Kumar, and Raghavendra Kini as well as several other party workers were present.
