Kundapur: Young woman commits suicide with 3-year-old daughter

Kundapur, Jun 29: A young woman along with her little daughter allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a well at Navunda in Maski village here on Saturday June 28.

The deceased have been identified as Nagaratna (25) and her three-year-old daughter Trisha, residents of Navunda. Nagaratna was married to Mahesh Devadiga.

The exact reason for taking the extreme step is not yet known, however, sources said that a family dispute had troubled Nagaratna.

The incident came to light late evening on Saturday after the family realized that the mother and daughter had gone missing. The family members along with the neighbours began to search for them, but in vain.

At around 10 pm, the bodies were found in the well.

A case has been registered in Byndoor police station and further investigations are on.

    yes, I do agree it will be tough challenge in front of a mother. But it's a better option that killing her own child. For what mistake of that little angel she is killed for ? I knew it's a evil society. but there are lot of options open. approach some NGOs, or professional organizations like Rotary / Lions who will definitely assure you some solution. Take some courage and act upon. the same courage you take for committing suicide, put same courage in the other direction, you wil make a change. It's just a option which will keep your child alive. that's it.

    Suicide is not solution, but what must not happen, happening.
    We can see each other know from outside but inside our heart how much we are good, pure, clean only God knows,
    Who was wounded only understand the pain what it is, Who has passed through
    depression, trauma understand what it is, who was in poverty understand what it is, who delivered understand what delivery pain is and who was mother that person only understand what mother is, all cannot understand, what is mothers heart, love.
    For all who are young clean respected person for them very difficult to face this evil world,
    When young and lonely women want to live alone, people want to take advantage, may she can work, but in this evil world, is women and daughter will be protected or safe?, who will and how take care of Girl child,? Roaring lions are waiting to get chance. Rapes, crime are increasing,
    Thinking Life is God given gift, many want children spend much for treatment and not also,
    But in life when suffering all around, experiencing in hell persons mind cannot go that.
    we can see people who are even wealthy, educated, doctors, engineers are also in suicide. Because no peace of mind, patience.
    Word said, what is use of the man gain whole world and loose own soul?
    Have everything, but no peace, when no peace struggles cannot face, in depression no patience. here really we need God to intervene for us, if God not with us ,difficult to face situation and come out from that.(Now our generation people think, everything we can get in world, why we has to follow or go deeper with God)

    quite disappointing incident. we can go on discussing. but really a sad incident. a young mother went away with her daughter. nobody knows the actual reason. only the family knows it. but just closed my eyes and tried to feel the mindset of the mother while deciding to close her life and also of her loved daughter. what a situation she might be in. God, don't give any mother such a situation. I would appreciate such mother's who feel life can not be with their husbands, just go away to a far of place and lead a life with their daughter or son. Now a days you will get job anywhere to earn your break and clothes. Why are you killing your loved children. Please go to unknown or far of place where nobody knows you. Start a fresh life. I am telling this is the worst scenario than bringing your life to an end, also taking away kids. ... just a recommendation... really sad to see little angel who is no more.

    When now days day-light rape/killing is going on, can any MAN leave the mother-child alone?

    Isn't it very easy to give suggestions and advice.? But only the person can understand what he/she may going through in his/her life.

    If given a chance, suicide committed people also will re-think to live but it is a matter of time. they end their life with their loved ones.

    It is so easy for many to say that it was not the correct\good step taken by the woman. The same thing is spoken every time a suicide happens.
    The real fact is the writers are not in such situations and do not try to understand the trauma the person may have gone through day in day out with NO CHANCE to seek help from any one. That is the final straw for such people to take this dreadful step to free themselves from such unbearable situations.

    Simple, i was about to say the same thing. Of course it is very easy for people to sit and comment and say suicide is not the solution. Only the person who undergo the trauma/pain know why they are taking that step. She should have allowed the child to live. Poor child.

    Here some are asking "what is the crime or fault of little angel"?

    Mother only knows why she has taken her daughter along with her. She might be thought "if I am treated like this, then what about my daughter when I am not there?"

    So now a days many mothers take their children along with them so that they should not suffer anymore.

    Yes, family dispute-It has taken many lives before and will take future too. All we repent after one life is lost. Then we are there with many "if's and But's".

    May be God also lost his patience with so these many crimes going on...

    Do not call a man wretched whatever the ills he may possess, but has a child to love (old saying). With an angel between them, they could have been able to settle any deadlock in their wedlock. As imagined by some, I also feel the allegation of infidelity may be the main reason which might have become the last straw on the camel's back for this woman. She might have felt the bleak future for her angel after her death. Any way, the angel and her mother may have been placed at a peaceful place by God. RIP.

    MY God again a Young woman committed suicide.the worst Thing is took the child also with her if at all it is a suicide case.we never know.it can happen if there was didpute in house ,somebody wanted them to get rid of may be.otherwise they would have searched first when they went missing in nearby Areas before giving a complain.but still I just understand to take self life but a innocent child's life.They should not take somebody's life.it is double sinn.Hope they will find peace in Heaven with angels.Heartfelt sympathy to the parents of Young woman.Here man should have settled Dispute at home earlier,now he Need not feel sorry for past.

    Whatever reason, a loving mother who carried 9 months in womb and gave birth to child with struggle, and pain , to leave child in this world and die its very hard. may she had problems don’t know to handle, no support, peace, patience,
    A loving mother thinks about child if I die who will take care and how that child life?     10 years ago if a husband complains that his wife warned to kill the child all would laugh and say common how can a mother do that.
    Now its not the case, This is getting common.

    A suicidal person's mind is at the extreme where the person takes self reasoning being right.
    I feel she may have felt that the future for herself and the child is at stake with her husband.
    In India still women are not wholly independent to live alone because of our culture, which makes this a possibility.
    Although civilized person will not take this extreme steps other than economic ones, we have to understand civilization and culture are two different aspects of living.

    In this case may be the husband needed psychiatric help as this woman may have been tortured through out accusing her being unfaithful and that child born as someone else's. It would be hell too for the child as the years passed.
    Otherwise a woman will not take this step to go away from this world with that sweet angel.

    Its is very standard practice to blame the husband. If there is fights at home and the fight is started by wife still the neighbors will blame the husband. And all know that there is DNA testing to determine whos child no this would not be the case. Women of these days are very smart thanks to the star TV and the soaps.
