Mangalore, Jul 27: Addressing a press meet here, Jayashree Bhat, head of department of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology, Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Attavar, informed that the department has acquired state-of-the-art instruments to test and diagnose speech and hearing defects in children and adults.
Not costing more than Rs 1000, the tests were suitable for all age groups, and the neo-natal screening would help detect hearing problems immediately after birth, she said.
The department on Friday July 28 and Saturday July 29, will organize the Second International Continuing Rehabilitation Education Programme on speech language and auditory disorders in paediatrics at the MCODS Hall, KMC, Attavar, here.
