Chandigarh, Jul 28: Four Army personnel, involved in the rescue of the five-year-old child Prince who fell into a 60 feet deep pit in Haryana's Kurukshetra district, were honoured by Army Chief Gen JJ Singh on Thursday.
Gen Singh presented the Chief of the Army Staff commendation cards to Lt Col A K Das, Subedar Onkar Singh, Nk K K Singh and L/Nk G M Manna of the Engineers Regiment at a function in Chandi Mandir Western Command headquarters near here, an official release said.
General Singh appreciated the efforts of the Army personnel who completed the task with proper planning and a professional attitude.
The civil administration had approached the Army for help on Saturday. The engineers task force, which comprised two officers, two JCOs and 13 other personnel, evacuated Prince on Sunday.
