Mangalore: Man arrested while trying to sell deer skin

Mangalore, July 2: A Special Forest Mobile Police Squad arrested a person who brought two deer skins for sale in the Mudipu market.

The arrested is identified as Star Win Wilson (21), a resident of Kundapur. PSI Shekar of the police squad on receipt of definite information has arrested Star Win Wilson under the Wildlife Conservation Act and has recovered the deer skins from him.


He has been handed over to the Konaje Police station for further action. The police are investigating the case.

In a similar incident that occurred involving the accused in Siddapur earlier, he was arrested by Forest Mobile Squad while he was
trying to sell deer skin and was handed over to Shankernarayana police station.

The operation was conducted on the direction from Bangalore forest zone IGP Arun Chakravarthi and DIGP Sridhar and on guidance by Madikeri unit SP Jinendra Khanagavi. Mangalore forest mobile squad PSI Shekar, H C Umesh Hosalike, Jayaram Rai, Honnappa Gowda, Narayana, Basheer, Sadashiva Ramachandra and Harischandra took part in the operation.
