Aug 1 : Paladka Church, a parish of Moodbidri varado and located nearly 42 Kilometres north-east of Mangalore released its website on the day of the feast of its Patron,  St Ignatius Loyola on Monday, July 31.

Earlier in the day, the solemn festive mass was celebrated along with parishioners. Parish priest Fr Norbert Lobo narrated the importance of the day and welcomed the gathering. Newly-ordained priest, Fr Anil Prakash D’Silva, now the assistant priest of Kinnigoli church was the main celebrant. Four other priests -  Fr Alfred Pinto, Fr Henry and Fr Eugene  of Nityadhar Nivas, Alangar and Fr Denis of Sampige church concelebrated.

The stage function in the church hall after Mass was presided over by parish priest Fr Norbert Lobo, with Fr Anil Prakash D’Silva as chief guest. Alwyn D’Souza of St Paul ward with wife Agnes and sons Alan and Ashwan D’Souza were on the dais. They donated a computer to St Ignatius Loyola Higher Primary school which was inaugurated by Ashwath to mark his birthday. Later, the website of the church was inaugurated by Fr Norbert Lobo. Alan in his speech, highlighted the importance of internet and web technology. He thanked all those who had helped him complete this dream project. Headmaster of Primary school Devdas Hedge welcomed the gathering. School teacher Benedicta compered the programme. Sr Joseena of Ursulines of Mary Immaculate Convent proposed the vote of thanks.

A cultural programme by the school students followed the stage function.

About Paladka parish : Peripheral villages were detached from Kirem, Kinnigoly, Hospet, Karkala and Taccode parishes and were formed into Paladka parish on November 17, 1913 and Fr. Salvadore D’Souza was appointed its first parish priest.
