Udupi, Aug 1: District deputy commissioner V Ponnuraj and Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon along with officials of fisheries department visited the Uchila-Bada area which has been affected by sea erosion on Monday July 31 afternoon.

DC and MLA paid a visit to Kamala B Shriyan's property which has been much affected by raging sea.  As reported earlier more than 15 coconut trees belonging to Kamala Shriyan have been washed out in the last 3-4 days.

Having assessed the damaged, MLA Lalaji Mendon appealed deputy commissioner to take some immediate measure to prevent the area from being washed out owing to sea erosion.  Responding to MLA's appeal, DC Ponnuraj ordered the officials of fisheries department to undertake preventive measure at the earliest.

It was later reported that the work of laying stones along with shores had started by Monday evening.
