Puttur, Aug 1: The Uppinangady police led by SI Ramesh managed to nab the remaining two accused in the Wednesday July 26 night robbery case of Hosamajal on Monday July 31.  The police have also recovered 200 grams of gold out of the total 257 grams of gold that was stolen from Dr Shivshankar Shastri's house at Hosamajal.

The arrested have been identified as Abbas alias Oriminute Abbas, Mohammad Bava of Nelyadi, Sayyad of Badiadka, Masood of Chikamagalur, Eshwar and Dilip from Belur in Hassan.
 
The police said that except Abbas and Mohammad Bava, rest of the accused are part of the inter-state sandalwood smuggling gang.  Masood even has a case filed against his name in the Kalasa police station with regard to theft in one temple priest’s house.

Meanwhile the police have arrested one Hameed who is said to have directly involved in the Rs 2.20 lac robbery.  Hameed, a resident of Nelyadi was one of the four men who came to Dr Shivshankar Shastri's house on Wednesday July 26 night asking for medicine.  The same group had then robbed of Dr Shivshankar.
