Mangalore, Jul 7: Karnataka Christian Educational Society (KACES), on the occasion of the birthday anniversary of its founder the late Rev Dr C D Jathanna, organized KACES Day at Bishop Jathanna Auditorium here on Monday July 7.

After inaugurating the programme, D Swaroop Kumar, assistant secretary of KIADB, Mangalore said, "Theologians and bureaucrats are both managers of the society. Bureaucrats manage the administration of the society while theologians manage the society by providing it resourceful individuals.

"Today, the youth are disconnected from current affairs. Hence it is necessary that the present generation seeks maximum information and remains up-to-date on various issues like politics, economics, international affairs and polices. Our nation has 65% to 70% of youth population, these youths will be the leaders of tomorrow," he stressed.

Dr Madhuri Devdhar, eminent social activist from Haveri said, "We should always think globally and act locally. Never refuse any work, as a even small work of yours may bring immense change in the society. Where there is a will there is a way. Serve the society as much as possible. We should be like salt of the earth, as Jesus said."

On this occasion MPhil and PhD scholars were felicitated.

Sarojini Kunder of Madikeri Shanthi Church, KACES secretary Dr Hanibal Cabral and others were present.

Great memories are in mind about KACES Days. I was staying in KACES hostel next to Rev. Jathanas house and had my best childhood days. I wish congratulation to the organizers of birth anniversary,

KACES have rendered yeomen service to the community. Their founder was known to me. May his soul rest in peace.

Hope the service started years ago will gain momentum in the years to follow.
