Udupi, Aug 3: Vijay Kumar of Udyavar has been elected as new president of Udupi taluk Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC). The election was held recently at the APMC premises at Adi Udupi on Wednesday, Aug 2.
Kumar turned victorious as the other candidate Dilip Hegde withdrew his nominations at the last minute.
Kumar succeeds Dr Sanjiv Shetty who resigned as he had no majority in the committee.
A BJP candidate, Kumar had contested for the elections last year, but lost to Dr Sanjiv.
