Mangalore, Aug 3: Anand (43), a resident of Kulai and an employee with Canara Bank Shivbagh branch, ended his life by hanging himself from the ceiling fan of his house, on Wednesday August 2 night. Though immediate reasons for his suicide are not known, it is said that he was under depression for sometime.
He had not reached his house even upto 9.30 pm on Wednesday. So his wife Vijaya, a steno in ZP office, called Anand's manager. But she did not get much details. However, Anand returned home around 10 pm.
When he came home, his daughter Chaitra (15) was studying, while his wife and son Vipin (11) were watching TV. He asked them to go to the bedroom and once they went to the bedroom, he locked the door from outside. He then went up to a room upstairs and hung himself from the ceiling fan.
Anand, a B.Com degree holder was suffering from diabetics. It is also said that recently he had taken to alcohol too.
A complaint in this regard has been filed in the Suratkal police station by Anand's brother Devdas.
