Mangalore, Aug 8: `The Licensing and Controlling of Places of Public Entertainment and Public Amusement (Dakshina Kannada District), 2006' notification enacted by the District Magistrate, Dakshina Kannada, has come into force following its publication in the official gazette dated July 20.
A press release from B. Dayananda, Superintendent of Police here on Monday stated that henceforth all places of public entertainment and amusement in the district will have to comply with this order if they desire to conduct live bands in their premises. The notification has been issued after obtaining sanction from the Government.
The draft notification in this regard was published as required under law in the official gazette dated March 23 inviting objections and suggestions to the proposed order from persons concerned within 30 days.
The final notification was prepared accordingly and sent to the Government on May 8 for providing necessary sanction made mandatory as per the Karnataka Police Act. The Government after examining the order gave its sanction on July 12 and notification was published in the gazette and the printed copies have now been made available.
