Udupi, Aug 8: Nagarjuna Power Corporation which is all set to start its thermal power project in the Nandikur area near Padubidri here has now one more feather in its cap. It has recently been conferred with the prestigious "Bharatiy Shiromani" award.
The award has been granted for efficient power generation apparatus, developed power lining, sulphur filtering unit of fuel gas and efficient programmes and measures to preserve nature.
The award was presented on July 25 at New Delhi by M V Rajshekharan, union minister for planning. Former union minister B N Singh, former election commissioner G V Krishnamurthy and others were present on the occasion.
