Dubai: UAE Exchange partners with UNICEF

Media Release

Dubai, July 19: The holy month of Ramadan inspires acts of kindness, good deeds and charity and such deeds done during this month are considered to be very sacred. As children are the future of any society, helping children overcomes the barriers they face to achieve a healthy and bright future and takes on special significance during this holy month.

UAE Exchange, the leading foreign exchange and money transfer brand, understands this perfectly and has tied up with UNICEF (United Nations International Children’s Fund) this Ramadan, donating AED 100,000 to help children around the world. This is the fourth consecutive association of UAE Exchange and the UN body.

Y Sudhir Kumar Shetty, COO – Global Operations, UAE Exchange said, “Depriving children of primary education is depriving society of progress. UNICEF has taken up a herculean task of helping those children who are in greatest need, thus providing them with an opportunity to improve their lives. UAE Exchange, as a socially conscious organisation, has always stood for causes that impacted the betterment of the society. Here too, we take pride in associating with UNICEF for this noble cause of bringing more smiles to the future generation.”

Dr Ibrahim El Ziq, UNICEF Gulf Area representative said, “We are grateful for the continued support of our partner UAE Exchange over the last four years. Working with UAE Exchange and other partners, we are able to reach more children and help them survive and thrive. We look forward to a continued strong relationship that would benefit more children over the coming years.”

UAE Exchange strives to go beyond profits and to make a difference in society by touching the lives of everyone positively. The remittance major regularly ties up with various NGOs to stand up for various social, humanitarian and environmental causes.

The event for handing over the cheque was attended by senior officials of UAE Exchange, UNICEF and special invitees.

UAE Exchange is a leading global remittance and foreign exchange brand with over 700 branches across 32 countries, which makes it the largest globally networked remittance brand. Its network of 150 correspondent banks adds to the might. In the UAE, it has 135 branches, of which 16 are in the Dubai Metro network.

UNICEF promotes the rights and well-being of every child, in everything it does. Together with its partners, it works in 190 countries and territories to translate that commitment into practical action, focusing special efforts on reaching the most vulnerable and excluded children, to the benefit of all children, everywhere.
