Karkala, Aug 12: In the last two days 6 people have been killed in road accidents in the district. One more fatal accident was added to this list when a five-year-old school boy was knocked down to death by a private bus at Manjarapalke near here on Friday August 11.
The deceased has been identified as Chetan, a student of Shri Vidyabodhini higher primary school at Kedinje near here.
On Friday he had gone to cultural programme organized at Shilpashree Bhavan at Bola. The programme had been organized during the ongoing de-addiction camp. After the programme, Chetan was walking home when a private bus knocked him down in front of the milk dairy at Manjarpalke.
As a result Chetan sustained serious injuries. Since the bus had passed on his head, he was crushed to death on the spot.
A complaint has been filed in the Karkala rural police station in this regard.
