Video editor from Alangar, Lawrence D'Souza (33), passes away

Mangalore, Jul 22: Lawrence D'Souza (33) from Alangar near Moodbidri, who was serving for TV9 television news network at Bangalore as its senior video editor, breathed his last on Monday July 21 morning due to cardiac arrest.

In the past, Lawrence had worked in the editing department of the town-based Adla Cable Network's Adla Channel. He had started serving TV9 news network about seven years ago.

D'Souza, who was a friendly and gentle-mannered person, was affectionately known in the circles close to him by the name, 'Lali'. He had a liking for social service, and had served as the president of Indian Catholic Youth Movement's Alangar unit. He was a gifted singer, and had served the church choir. He had married about 18 months back.

Lawrence has left behind parents, wife, and two sisters. His body is expected to arrive at his native place on Tuesday July 22 after which funeral will take place.

Ashraf Valpady, president of Press Club Moodbidri, the local arm of Working Journalists Union, has mourned the untimely death of Lawrence D'Souza.
