Mangalore, Aug 13: Death can cut short one's life suddenly, sometimes at least expected junctures.
The Valdar family of Loreto was in an elated mood on Sunday, as Arun, the youngest son of the Marcel Valdar family got betrothed in Perampally in Udupi.
After the ceremony, as the family members were returning home, tragedy struck them as the head of the family, Marcel Valdar, suffered a cardiac arrest around 5-30 pm and passed away in the car. The sad incident occurred when they were just five kilometres away from home.
So the vehicle was immediately diverted to Mangalore and he was declared dead upon arrival at Fr Muller Hospital. The mortal remains were then moved to the hospital mortuary.
The deceased had served in the department of posts for many long years and was a much-loved and popular person.
