Bangalore, Jul 24: Konkani lovers in and around Bangalore are in for a memorable evening on Sunday July 27 with 'Sangeeth Sardar' Wilson Olivera and his entire troupe all set to rock the stage of Good Shepherd Auditorium (beside St Patrick’s Church), Residency Road sharp at 5 pm. This event is sure to remain in the hearts of Konkani lovers for a long time to come as special care has been taken by the organizers and the artistes to make it one of the best shows in recent times.
The event has been organized by Konkani Samudai of Jayanagar, which has not only been instrumental in promoting Konkani language and culture in Bangalore but is also continuously supporting the society in innumerable ways. Taking into consideration the overwhelming response so far, the organizers are very confident of having a full house show on July 27 which will start sharp at 5 pm and conclude before 8:30 pm. Organizers have also confirmed that ample free parking spaces have been arranged for those who come with their vehicles.
Wilson Olivera will be back in Bangalore after a decade but surely with full preparation to create history. Konkani music lovers are sure to cherish the evening for a long time to come.
Having rendered momentous lyrics and melodious music, Wilson Olivera is aptly conferred with titles of ‘Sangeeth Sardar’ and ‘Konkan Manik’. He is also the recipient of prestigious awards like 'Konkani Kala Samaj Puraskar' in 1995, 'Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy Award' in 2003, 'Divo Sahitya Puraskar' in 2008 and 'Konkani Surdas Puraskar' in 2009.

Incidentally this is going to be the 50th Konkani show of Ronald Olivera (who has compered shows of as many as eleven popular Konkani composers, a feat which not many have achieved so far in the history of Konkani, if at all any) as master of ceremony. Ronald, a popular public speaker and most sought-after guest speaker and resource person, is sure to prove to be the perfect host with his unmatched style and witty humour.
Wilson Olivera will be ably supported by renowned orchestra maestro Adrian Gomes (from Kuwait), the master of all musical instruments who will ooze magnificence to this extravaganza, leading as the music director for the show.
Well-known Konkani singer Rony D’Cunha will be another centre of attraction along with other popular singers from the Konkan musical arena namely, Zeena Periera, Babitha Pinto, Robin Sequeira, Pradeep Pinto, Stuart Olivera and Carol Sequeira.
The evening will also witness outstanding performances by Mangalore’s famous dance troupe, ‘Nach Sobhann’ which will treat the audience to a round of breathtaking moves and thus enhance the magic of the musical evening.
The other moments of delight will be contributed by the ever popular comedy trio 'Me-Mo-Ri' who have promised to create a riot of laughter among the crowd and keep them entertained all along with their latest comedy skits.
