Udupi, Aug 17: A joint masters’ is not a mere educational programme, but it is going to be career programme, said programme co-ordinator Jos Baeten from Technical University, Eindhoven, Netherlands while inaugurating the new joint master’s programme offered by MAHE-Manipal and Technical University, Eindhoven on Wednesday.

Programme co-ordinator Manohar Pai said MAHE and Technical University signed an agreement to offer this joint masters’ degree programme which is being sponsored by Dutch Industries.

 Under this programme, students will study their first year at Manipal and the second year at Eindhoven. The Technical University, Eindhoven (TU/e) will award the M Sc (computer science and engineering) and MAHE will award a masters’ degree in software engineering.

He said the first batch of this programme is totally free of cost to the students.

The sponsorship covers fees, scholarship for food and accommodation in Manipal, travel expenses to Netherlands, fees at TU/e and scholarship in Netherlands. The third dual degree will be conducted by the department of information and communication technology and computer sciences and engineering of MIT and mathematics and computer sciences department of TU/e, Netherlands.
