Kasargod: Couple found dead in house, suicide suspected

Kasargod, Jul 29: A 58-year-old man and his wife were found dead in their house at Balavantadka near Pandi, Delampady here on Monday July 28.

The deceased have been identified as Narayana Naik (58) and Geeta (53).

Police suspect that they committed suicide as a bottle of poison was found in the same room where they were lying dead. However, Adoor police said that the exact cause of death would be known only after the post-mortem report is out.

The reason for taking the extreme step is not known.

The couple leaves behind a son and three daughters - Ramesh, Pushpa, Anita and Ramya. Among them, Pushpa and Anita are married. Ramesh and Ramya are staying in their uncle's house in the same neighbourhood. Only the deceased couple stayed in the house.

Adoor SI Satish Kumar arrived at the spot and conducted investigations.

The bodies were shifted to Kasargod general hospital for post-mortem.

    The need of the present is spiritual enlightenment. Let the government start spiritual discourse centres, in all villages where in saints, maulavis and priests provide discourses to uplift the souls of the people. In the present scenario people become
    internally weak when some crisis appears. Only schooling with Maths,Science and languages history does not solve the problems of the internal self. A spiritual renaissance is badly needed.

    Suicide cases are ever increasing and in the context of the situation, it is advisable that counseling classes are held in several places to help people.
