Mangalore, Aug 20: The Mangalorean Team of budding mathematicians won laurels for the region at the state-level.
Students of Aloha Learning Centre at Hampankatta have won five prizes in the State-level Aloha Abacus and Mental Arithmetic competition held at Bangalore on Aug 15.
Manu Balnad of St Ann’s School Kuntikan won the first prize in the fifth level C group, while Meghana K of Canara Girls High School won the third prize in the fifth level D group.
A P Praneetha of St Ann’s School Won the second prize in the fifth level D group. Raffid, Sinwan Abubaker of Milagres School won the second place in the first level B group and Joel Wrenson Cutinho of Milagres School won the third place in the first level D Group.
Nearly 1,000 students from all over Karnataka participated in the competition. The participants were to solve 50 problems in 5 minutes.
Aloha India chairman K Kumaran and Delhi Public School principal Sneha Preeth Sial distributed the prizes in the ceremony presided over by Director General and Police Inspector General of Police B S Sial.
The winners will be taking part in the national-level competition.
