Bangalore, Aug 21: A function will be held under the auspices of the British Council and Unisun Publications, to mark the launch of two books here.

Titles:

The Dance of Bhuleshwar Branch - by Daksha Hathi

There is a Dance for Every Song - by Mridula Martis

Shashi Deshpande and K R Usha will do the honours of launching the books.

The programme is as follows:

Date: Saturday, August 26

Time: 6-30 pm

Venure: Mount Carmel College Seminar Hall on Palace Road, Bangalore

The release will be followed at 7-45 pm by a short dance demo.

About Mridula Martis

Mridula Martis, a chartered accountant worked with a multinational accounting firm for many years before choosing to pursue a career in dance.

She is a Certified Associate with the United Kingdom Professional Teachers of Dancing (UKA) and also with the International Dance Teachers Association.

She set up her school Dance with me in Victoria Layout, Bangalore and has taught dance to around 3000 working professionals in Bangalore.

She has conducted dance workshops at Infosys, HP, Oracle, Accenture, Mindtree, Fidelity Investments, Iflex, HSBC Bank, Axa, Catholic Club and Palm Meadows.

She is currently also training 70 of her students to take their professional bronze and silver medal examinations with the UKA in November 2006. These examinations will be the first to be conducted in India.
