Sahana finishes eighth in women's high jump


Glasgow, Aug 2 (IANS): Indian athlete Sahana Nagaraj came out with a disappointing performance to finish eighth in the women's high jump final at the Commonwealth Games here Friday.

The gold went to Australia's Eleanor Patterson with a season's best jump of 1.94 metres while England's Isobel Pooley took the silver with a personal best leap of 1.92m. Levern Spencer of St. Lucia clinched the bronze at the Hampden Park Stadium.

Sahana's best of 1.86m came on her third attempt out of 12 competitors.
