Kundapur, Aug 21: Thieves who broke into two shops in the town have decamped with cash worth Rs 94,000 on Saturday August 19 night.  While the thieves have succeeding in looting Kamath & Kamath Tyre Shop and Welcome Wines, their efforts too loot a grocery shop have gone in vain.

The sources said that the thieves have managed to enter the tyre shop by breaking open the shutter and have stolen Rs 80,000 out of which Rs 45,000 was withdrawn from bank on Saturday morning and kept in the cash box.  Thereafter the thieves have tried to gain entry into a grocery shop owned by Sanjeev Shetty.  But they have not succeeded.

Further, they managed to break into Welcome Wines in the town and have stolen Rs 14,000 from the cash box.  It is said that the thieves have also stolen some alcohol bottles from the wine shop.

Kundapur police have registered a case in this regard.
