Udupi, Aug 21: A high school girl ended her life by setting herself ablaze in her house at Moodabettu near Malpe here on Saturday August 19.
Sushmitha (15), daughter of Sathish Poojary of Moodabettu set herself ablaze on Saturday when no one was in the house. She is said to have locked the bathroom from inside, poured kerosene on and set herself ablaze.
She was a class X student of Adi Udupi high school. Though the reason for her suicide is not yet known, some sources said that her father had refused sign her marks card owing to some reasons. Some other sources said that she was in love with a boy which was opposed by her parents.
However, Malpe police have said that nothing has not yet been established. The police have registered a case in this regard.
