Mangalore, Aug 22: “Small is Beautiful,” said Prof Vineetha K, social worker, School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya, after inaugurating AL-LEAF (Local Environment Awareness Forum) at the Xavier auditorium on Monday.

 

Prof Vineetha, the chief guest of the function, said that though the number of students in the forum was not large, they still could make a big difference. She spoke of the environmental problems in India citing reasons and examples from our own city, Mangalore.

 

AL-LEAF is a novel movement which took shape among the students of the college. The greens movement was started by planting saplings in the college campus.

Principal of the college Fr Eugene Lobo, Vice-president Prof Eric Patrao, president of the forum Prof Lawrence Pinto also joined the movement by planting saplings.
