Puttur: 36-year-old lawyer dies in accident near Uppinangady

Puttur, Aug 3: A young lawyer died in an accident near Karaya under Uppinangady police limits here on Sunday August 3.

The deceased has been identified as I Sadashiva (36), a resident of Thanneeru Panth Alake, Beltangady.

The accident occured between the bike Sadashiva was riding and an auto rickshaw.

Sadashiva was riding from Karaya to Uppinangady, while the auto rickshaw was moving in the opposite direction.

Police sources said that the auto rickshaw driver fled from the spot soon after the accident.

The locals gathered at the spot and a person identified as Syed Ismail called the 108 ambulance. Sadashiva was rushed to hospital where he breathed his last.

Sadashiva was a practicing lawyer of Beltangady court.

Sadashiva's wife is a staff in Madikeri taluk office. The couple has a child.

Uppinangady traffic PSI Rakshith arrived at the spot.

A case has been registered in Uppinangady police station.

    The Good Samaritan who shifted the HINDU lawyer to the hospital was a MUSLIM.... Humanity is above all.... This is the Mangalore I always knew about.... It is unfortunate that the lawyer dis not survive. May he R.I.P.
    But the biggest lesson Syed Ismail has taught us is " Lets all live as brothers despite our personal faiths and sentiments".....May his tribe increase...

    The Auto Driver must be punished if NOT for the accident at least for Running away instead of Helping...I think we need GOOD SAMARITAN law which will make it punishable offence for people to NOT help accident victims
