Los Angeles, Aug 5 (IANS): Actress Lindsay Lohan's father Michael is worried that his pregnant girlfriend may suffer miscarriage in prison, after learing that she had two bleedings.
Michael has hired Jose Baez to obtain a court order to ensure that his girlfriend Kate Major, who is five months pregnant, is receiving proper medical treatment.
Kate is serving an eight-month sentence for driving under the influence (DUI).
"You know damn well if someone has vaginal bleeding while pregnant that's indicative of a miscarriage," tmz.com quoted the 54-year-old as saying.
He said that the prison officials took his girlfriend to an infirmary when she started to bleed and sent her back to her cell without seeing a specialist, though she was given an ultrasound scan which indicated a heartbeat in her unborn baby.
He also alleged that she was forced to carry her own personal items back to her room while still bleeding.
Major, who is already mother to Michael's 18-month-old son, Landon, was arrested in March 2013 after Michael called the police following a drunken feud.
