Vijay condemns attack on Jayalalitha

Chennai, Aug 5: Famous Tamil actor Vijay along with other members of the Tamil film fraternity staged a protest on Monday August 4 outside the Sri Lankan Consulate in Chennai.

Speaking at the event, Vijay praised the Chief Minister of the state J Jayalalithaa (Amma) for the decisive actions she took to solve the long running Indo - Sri Lankan issue. Vijay also condemned the Sri Lankan Government for posting a defamatory article about the state's CM on their defense website.

Vijay ended his speech saying that defaming Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister is equal to degrading his own mother.

Vijay is a supporter of Jayalalitha's political party AIADMK. He also campaigned for Jayalalitha and other party members during the last assembly elections.
