Watch Video : Wedding proposal at 35,000 feet aboard Emirates A380 !

Aug 6 : Love was in the air, literally, when Stuart Mackinnon decided to propose to Victoria Loudon at 35,000 feet, aboard an Emirates flight bound for Brisbane.

In case you are wondering, she said yes!

A 1.45-minute clip released by the airline sees a visibly nervous Mackinnon handing Loudon a bouquet before going down on bended knee to pop the question.

Playing Cupid on the flight, an Emirates statement revealed further details of the mid-flight proposal, stating that just after takeoff, Mackinnon sought the help of the Flight Purser and together with the cabin crew team, they brainstormed a creative way to help with the proposal.

Enlisting the Baradene College Concert Band that happened to be travelling on the flight, Emirates’ crew transformed the Onboard Lounge with an impromptu serenade of Louis Armstrong’s ‘What a Wonderful World’ sung by a cabin crew member.

“It was always going to be a truly special moment in my life but what happened took it to a level I could never have imagined. There could have been no better setting anywhere in the world. The nerves I had were put at ease with the fantastic crew members, the Captain and all the passengers,” said Mackinnon in a statement.

The newly engaged couple celebrated the moment with a few glasses of bubbly and a cake provided by the airline, with crew members and passengers cheering them on.
