New Delhi, Aug 28:
Sania Mirza's poor singles form has seen her drop out of the top 50 in the latest WTA Rankings after slipping 10 places to 54th in the list issued on Monday.
Full coverage: US Open 2006

The Indian, who was ousted in the first round of the WTA tier IV Forest Hills Classic last week, has 424 ranking points. However, Sania has managed to hold on to her career high 28th position in the doubles rankings with 971 points.

Sania sits three steps below her first round US Open opponent Karolina Sperm (429.75) in the singles list.

The massive fall in the rankings reflects on Sania's poor form this season, which has seen her make just one quarterfinal appearance in the WTA events in 2006.

Among the other Indians in the list, the US-based Shikha Uberoi moved up two places to 191 in the latest rankings with 140.75 points. Shikha is followed way down by Ankita Bhambri (53.75) at the 362nd spot.

Isha Lakhani (45.50) and veteran Lakhsmi Chakravarthi (34.75) are the next to follow at the 382nd and 451st position.

French Amelie Mauresmo (2470) continues to lead the pack followed by Belgium's Justine Henin-Hardenne (3078). Lindsay Davenport (1530) has dropped out of the top 10, slipping to the 11th position.

In the ATP list, Leander Paes remains static at the 12th spot with 2825 points while former partner Mahesh Bhupathi (1500) dropped one place to 27th in the latest doubles rankings issued on Monday.
