Udupi, Aug 11: Teams from various districts showcased their talents at the state-level 'Sequence Coupz-2014' dance contest organized by Sequence Dance Crew at Town Hall, Ajjarkad here on Sunday August 9.
Wonderful performances were rendered by all the teams and the evening was full of fun for all the attendees. The president of CMC inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp and wished the organizers and the teams all success.
Amrith Shanai, businessman, Ranjan Kalkura of Kalkura Builders and Jayakar Shetty Indrali were present for the programme. Pramod Madhwaraj, MLA of Udupi constituency and district in-charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake also graced the occasion.
The guests said that such programmes help to enhance creativity and bring out hidden talents in youngsters.
Shanti Raghuvir Madikeri, Sanjay and Santhosh Bangalore were the judges for the competition.
Tanushree Udyavar, a 5-year-old competitor won the hearts of the audience with a stunning performance. She has performed in more than 100 stage shows at the national level.
Many dance troupes from various districts participated in the competition. Boyzone troupe, which has participated in several national-level dance contests and TV reality shows, also took part.
Step on Step, Kundapur were declared the winners and were presented a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and a trophy. Sanjana Bhatkal team won the second place and received a cash prize of Rs 20,000 along with a trophy while the third prize was bagged by Smart Guys, Udupi, which received a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
The programme was packed with entertainment and the audience thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. The competition was a blend of classical and western dance forms.
Rajesh Kodankuru and Ashok Kadbettu were the conveners of the competition and Sandeep Bhakta compered.
