Kolkata, Aug 31: A mild tremor measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale was felt on the West Bengal-Assam border on Thursday.

The epicentre was located at 26.4 degree north latitude and 89.7 degree east longitude, the meteorological officials said adding the tremor was felt at 11:06am.

Reports from Coochbehar and Siliguri said the quake was felt in Coochbehar, Jalpaiguri and Siliguri areas of north Bengal.

The quake lasted Siliguri for two seconds while it rocked Jalpaiguri for three to four seconds, reports said. There is was no immediate report of any loss.
