Kasargod, Aug 16: Mangalore Diocese Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza unveiled the bust of priest Fr Lawrence S Pais who served the Kayyar Christaraja Church for 14 years and brought revolutionary change in the vicinity.

The church authorities welcomed the Bishop at the church arch. Kayyar Christaraja Church priest Victor D’Souza welcomed the Bishop who later unveiled the bust of Fr Pais. The Bishop inaugurated the education fund started in the name of Fr Pais. Bishop D’Souza added that Fr Pais’s achievement should be a role model to all.

He said, “Kayyar village, which was underdeveloped, saw the light of day through Fr Pais’ efforts in establishing schools, plying buses, constructing roads, and building a church for ritual practices in the place.”

The Bishop facilitated the donors who donated money for the education fund. He also released the CD ‘Polio Mog’ produced by Anil and Laveena Pais couple from Kuwait.

On the occasion, Dr Christopher Pais, a relative of Fr Pais, Catholic Sabha president Cyprian D’Souza, parish council vice-president George Almeda and others were present.
