Bangalore: Kumaraswamy blames Siddu for trying to create rift in JD(S)

Bangalore, Aug 18: A day after JD(S) supremo and former Prime Minister H D DeveGowda publicly confessed that there were "serious differences" within JD(S) and the party legislators and workers were "free to remain or quit to join other parties," former chief minister and Gowda’s son H D Kumaraswamy on Monday blamed Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah for trying to split the JD(S).

Kumaraswamy asserted that there was "complete unity and no misunderstanding" in JD(S) and also claimed that none of the party MLAs would leave the organisation.

"I know my legislators. It is my firm belief is that no one will leave the party," Kumaraswamy declared.

He, however, said sometimes our MLAs meet the Chief Minister regarding work related to their constituency and that should not be misunderstood as rift in JD(S).

Kumaraswamy alleged that Siddaramaiah was showing his narrow minded attitude by misusing his power to win over the party MLAs.

Addressing JD(S) workers state level conference in Bangalore on Monday, he said the chief minister was trying to create misunderstanding among us by giving out some reliable source based information to the media about the MLAs meeting with him (indicating they would quit JD(S)).

MLAs meeting the Chief Minister for their constituency related work is being misrepresented, and this is causing confusion among party workers, he said.

Kumaraswamy’s comment comes just a day after DeveGowda said those party leaders willing to support Congress in the August 21 Assembly bypoll to Shikaripura constituency could either join any of the two national parties or remain in JD(S) and work to strengthen it.

Speculation is rife that three JD(S) leaders - Madhu Bangarappa, Chelavarayaswamy and Zameer Ahmed Khan - have been cosying up to the Congress.

Siddaramaiah had claimed on August 13 that local JD(S) leaders had expressed willingness to support Congress in the Shikaripurabypoll to unseat BJP which has fielded former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa’s son B Y Raghavendra.

JD(S) workers demanded that Kumaraswamy be made the state President to strengthen the party in the state.

    You are right. After they start accusing someone for some silly thing, they don't have anything else to do. They have time and money but do not have any specific goal. It is pathetic to see this father and son wasting so much of time on stupidity. Why don't just get employed somewhere and sleep peacefully in the night.

    Now the elected legislators have become universal after the defection game launched by Yediyurappa in the last term to form BJP government in the state by adopting operation lotus.This bad culture is breeded by them and now really difficult to weed out unless we stop total defection.

    If indeed it is true, then Siddu deserves a medal. It is time we chased out this melodramic family from politics.

    They have done enough harm to the state with their monkey games.

    And with KPSC fiasco, their funding might have dried up. They need a way to wriggle out :)

    Don't write stupid comments here. People are matured here unlike you. Your wrong propaganda did not work all these days. BJP existed in Karnataka before Siddu entered politics.

    Siddu spewed venom against Modi in last election and got lost. Yesterday he again he started hate speech against Modi, Advani, and Hindus in Bellary.

    Wait for the election result to get befitting reply to your communal siddu and party.

    Forcing exit of Siddu from JDS is the root cause of JDS's present situation.Should Siddu remained in the JDS,there could only two parties in Karnataka that is CONGRESS & JDS.

    Strange Kumarawamy trying to Unite whereas Gowda trying to divide. Cannot understand whats gowda upto ??? Looks like Gowda is set to sell everything. Kumarswamy must take over immediately as any continuance by Gowda will make party Diwali. Gowda looks to be hand to hand with congress./Bjp and selling party. Probably a deal is suspected now to sell MLAs too.

    Every now and then these people going behind BJP. Actually we don't want a regional party in Karnataka. Better to dissolve the party and Gowda & sons can join BJP directly, if they are not capable to control their legislators instead of blaming Mr.Sidda Ramaiah.
