Mangalore, Aug 20 (Bangalore Mirror): A cheetah was reportedly spotted near the Mangalore International airport on Tuesday evening.
Airport director JT Radhakrishnan said, "Though there is no confirmation on it, a few staff members claimed that they spotted a cheetah outside the boundary wall of the airport, which is towards the old airport side.
Since it was late in the evening and visibility poor, we could not find anything. The runway operations were not affected and the flights are as per schedule."
It may be recalled that in 2012, runway inspectors spotted a bison at the Mangalore airport during their routine inspection. Though aircraft operations were not affected, the bison was found at the base strip of the valley.
