Mangalore: Knocked down by car, pedestrian succumbs

Mangalore, Aug 21: A pedestrian, who had suffered grave injuries after having been hit by a car, succumbed to his injuries at a hospital on Wednesday August 20 morning. The accident had occurred at Mukka Junction on August 14.

Devanand (29) from Sasihitlu village, used to work as a supervisor in a guest house at Sasihitlu. At around 7 pm on August 14, he was crossing the road at Mukka Junction on some work, when a car coming from the direction of Mangalore knocked him down.

He had been admitted into a hsopital here for treatment. However, he did not recover, and lost his life on Wednesday morning.
