Doha: MCA announces Konkani poetry contest

Doha, Aug 27: Mangalore Cultural Association, Doha Qatar has announced Konkani Kavita (Poetry) Competition open to all Konkani speaking Mangaloreans residing in Doha, Qatar.

Interested participants are hereby invited to send in their poems by September 15.


Rules:

1. There is no age limit; the participant has to be from a Konkani speaking community of Mangalorean origin, residing in Qatar (copy of Qatar ID to be produced on request only).

2. The poem has to be in Konkani, neatly handwritten or typed in Kannada, Roman or Devnagari script.

3. Submitted poetry must be the participant's original composition.

4. The poem can be sent through email to mcaqatar@gmail.com in pdf format or hand delivered through any of the MCA committee members.

5. The poems should not exceed one page (A4 size).

6. All entries should be submitted no later than September 15 by email or by hand through MCA committee members.

7. The competition will be judged by renowned Konkani poets and their decision will be final.


The participant has to include his/her full details including name, age, gender, postal address, mobile number and email id.

The winners will be announced during Gulf Voice of Mangalore - 4 Qatar semi-finals at Al Ghazal Club on September 26. The best three poems will be published in the Souvenir which will be released on this occasion.

MCA will celebrate the Monthi Fest with comedy skits, dance, songs, games and home made traditional dinner on Septemeber 19 at ICC’s Ashoka Hall, Doha.
