Mangalore: Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy holds committee meet

Mangalore, Aug 28: Dr Prajna Ammembal was felicitated during the first committee meeting of year 2014-2015 of Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy here on Thursday August 28 at Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy, Attavar.

Advocate and writer B A Mohammed Haneef the president of Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy welcomed the guests and registrar of KBSA, Umarabba introduced the new committee members.

 

Addressing the KBSA members, Dr Prajna explained the rules and regulations and how to work in the academy. "When a programme is conducted, lot of money is required and you can ask for sponsors and for that you do not need the permission of higher authorities. When a artiste performs on the stage, he has to get proper compensation. He should not be treated cheaply by paying only Rs 100," said clarifying the doubts of the members.

Chandrahas Rai, Tulu Sahitya Academy registrar and members Hameed Padubidri, Idinabba Byari, Abdul Hameed Golthamajalu, Baddruddin K Mani, Mohammed Firdoz, Abbas Kirugonda, Zohara Abbas Krishnapura and others were also present on the occasion.
