Mangalore: Community leader Mulki Sheik Abubakar (92) passes away

Managlore, Sep 6: Mulki Sheik Abubakar, joint registrar of co-operative societies (Retd) and a well-known personality from Sahebaan community, passed away in Mangalore on August 29, at the prime age of 92.

In addition to his illustrious career in the Karnataka Administrative Services, he was also known for his visionary ideals, humility, community development and discipline. He was also instrumental in establishing Shadi Mahal in Bolar, the first community hall for Muslims in Mangalore.

He is survived by his wife and children and will be missed by the community. Relatives, friends and members of the community gathered in large numbers to pay their last respects to the departed soul despite inclement weather and a national holiday.
