Udupi: Mahila Congress Committee demands Karthik Gowda’s immediate arrest

Udupi, Sep 6: Udupi District Mahila Congress Committee members staged a protest demanding Karthik Gowda's immediate arrest near clock tower on Saturday evening, September 6.

Veronica Carnelio, president of the committee said that the police should conduct an unbiased investigation regarding Karthik Gowda who is absconding after the Kannada actress charged him with rape and cheating.

Committee members were demanding implementation of law for violence against woman as soon as possible and to take stern action against the culprit.

Amrith Shanai, Congress senior leader, said that victims, especially women, are failing to get justice. At any cost, Karthik Gowda must be arrested or surrender himself to police custody, he added.

He furthers demands that if Railway minister DV Sadananda Gowda has any morality and culture, he should leave from his post till his son comes out clean from the case. He questioned where were the supportive parties like RSS, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrangadal to support the actress’ case. There is no protection to women, he added.

Ramesh Anchan, CMC member, Selina Karkada, president of standing committee, Meenakshi, Shobha, Janaki Shettigar, Vanajakshi, Harish  Kini, Narayan among others were present in the protest.
