Kolar: Ten killed in bus-lorry accident at Mulbagal

Kolar, Sep 8: Ten persons were killed in a ghastly accident between a KSRTC bus and a sand-laden lorry at Koppalamadagu in Mulbagal taluk here on Monday September 8.

Five of the ten victims died on the spot, while the rest passed away later in hospital.

The bus passengers were travelling from Bangalore to Tirupati when a lorry laden with sand rammed into it.

Around seven persons who sustained injuries were admitted to Mulbagal hospital. Some of the other passengers escaped with minor injuries.

Identities of the deceased are yet to be known.

Mulbagal police arrivd at the spot and registered a case.

    Is this also a case of OVER-SPEEDING? Road accidents are ever on the increase and perhaps it is time to install SPEED GOVERNORS on transport vehicles and more specially on buses. The lives of the people are in the hands of the drivers and it is extremely necessary that adequate steps are taken by the R.T.O's in conjunction with the police department to find ways and means to reduce the unfortunate mishaps.
