Saudi king to host 1,400 Haj pilgrims


Riyadh, Sep 9 (IANS): Saudi Arabia will host 1,400 pilgrims from more than 70 countries to perform Haj rituals in the final month of the Islamic calendar this year under the guests programme of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, media reported Tuesday.

This was announced by Sheikh Saleh bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, the minister of Islamic affairs, endowments, call and guidance, and general supervisor of the guests programme, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The minister said that since the starting of this programme, the country has hosted a total of 22,000 Muslims from different countries.
