‘Manwa Laage’ crosses two million views in 48 hours

Mumbai, Sep 12 (PTI): Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer romantic song ‘Manwa Laage’ from ‘Happy New Year’ has crossed two million hits in two days.

‘Manwa Laage’, the second song from Farah Khan’s upcoming Bollywood heist drama, has been composed by Vishal-Shekhar and so far viewed by 2,677,043 people on Youtube since its release on Tuesday.

The Irshad Kamil-written romantic number has been sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal and also features other actors Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah besides the lead pair.

“I am ecstatic! It’s the first song we recorded two years ago. Arijit was relatively lesser known then. Vishal - Shekhar and Irshad Kamil have done a fabulous job…,” Farah said in a statement.

The music composer duo, who had worked with Farah in her previous outings ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Tees Maar Khan’, said it was a ‘beautiful experience’ to create the song.

“In a world that shouts everything loudly, Manwa is a gentle breath of peace and love. Creating this song was a beautiful experience as working with Farah always is. Shah Rukh and Deepika have gone beyond our expectations in their performance,” said Vishal-Shekhar, music directors the film.

Kamil said the song is very close to his heart.

“It reaffirms my belief that when simple words come straight from the heart they seep into the hearts effortlessly. I want to thank listeners for the love they have shown towards ‘Manwa Laage’ as they are the true judge of a creation,” he said.

Produced by Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies Entertainment, the film will release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on October 24.
