Mangalore: Murder ­accused arrested after 13 years of crime

Mangalore, Sep 12: Relating to a murder which happened 13 years ago, Ullal police have succeeded in arresting the main accused, Ashraf Ankajal from Krishnapura, on Wednesday September 10.

Sakina from Madoor had gone missing in 2001 and a case had been filed in Ullal station. During this period, the case was being investigated and the police got information that the body of a lady was found lying in Charmadi Ghat area. The police, who checked this information,
came to know that the mortal remains belonged to Sakina. Sakina was found to have been murdered and her body was abandoned there.

An accused named Madoor Isubu was arrested four years back. During his questioning, Isubu had revealed to the police that Ashraf Ankajal had kidnapped the lady and taken her Charmadi Ghat with the specific aim of eliminating her.

The policemen, who took custody of Ankajal on Wednesday, interrogated him deeply into this murder.
