Singer Arpita enters TV world for its reach


Mumbai, Sep 12 (IANS): Singer Arpita Chakraborty, who has sung "Happy shappy wala ishq" for TV show "Ek Veer Ki Ardaas...Veera", finds television an important medium, and says it cannot be disregarded.

Keeping the "fantastic reach" of television, "today, you cannot ignore television," she said.

"I have already sung title track for a new show and I am looking forward to other challenging assignments," Arpita said in a statement.

The peppy romantic number for Star Plus' show "Veera" became an instant hit with the audience. She will sing popular tracks like "Jiya Jale", "Jaadu hai Tera Hi Jadu Hai" and "Tum Mile Dil Khile" for the show.

The versatile singer who can sing in more than 16 languages, Arpita began her music career with "Raske bhare tore naina" in "Satyagraha" while her last number in Hindi was "Lori of death" in "Ragini MMS".
