Mangalore, Sep 24: Union minister for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs Prayanranjan Das Munshi inaugurated the grand Mangalore Dasara and Gangavatarana Daranji in Kudroli Temple premises on Saturday, Sep 23.
Speaking on the occasion, Dashmunsi said that the “one caste, one religion and one God” teaching by Narayana Guru was a slogan for humanity. One needs to denounce the practise of untouchability, he added.
Dasara, which is a festival that marked the victory of good over evil, is a time for people to build new relationships and forget the differences
Rajya Sabha member B Janardhana Poojary, National Billava Mahamandala president Jaya C Suvarna, All Karnataka Vishwakarma Mahasabha president K P Nanjundi, Harikrishna Bantwal and others were present.
The minister also inaugurated the "Gangavatharana" a fountain dedicated to the theme of King Bhagiratha's efforts to bring the Ganga from the heavens to the earth.
He also launched a new marriage hall built of wood with carvings of Vishnu and Shiva Kalyanam.
