Bangalore: William Pinto elected president of BKCS

Bangalore, Sep 16: The 18th AGM of BKCS, Koramangala was held on Sunday September 14 at Holy Cross Hall, Maruthi Nagar, Madivala.

The programme began with a mass in Konkani at 10.00 am. The celebrants were Fr Praveen D'souza and Fr Richard Menezes. The mass came to an end at around 11.00 am after which there was a tea break of 30 minutes. The AGM commenced at 11.30 am.

President Menderline Machado welcomed the gathering; Fr Richard Menezes was welcomed and felicitated. A prayer and a minute of silence was maintained for the departed souls of the members of BKCS during the past year.

Joint secretary Norbert D'sa read out the minutes of the last AGM. Vice president Dr Fulton D'souza read out the annual report of 2013-14.

Treasurer Joseph Sequeira presented the audited accounts for 2013-14. Words of appreciation were spoken to the present office bearers by the past presidents of BKCS. The vote of thanks was rendered by secretary Sunil Coutinho.

The election of the new executive committee for 2014-16  was conducted by the returning officer Fr Richard Menezes. The elected committee members were: William Pinto as president, Leo Sequeira as vice president, Romel D'souza as secretary, Sunil Coutinho as treasurer and imm. past secretary, Alwyn Rasquinha as joint secretary, Benedicta Veigas as cultural secretary and Menderline Machado as Imm past president.

Committee members : Alwyn Mendonca, Dr Fulton Dsouza, Mark D'souza, Alban D'souza, Jayvanth Miranda, Rosy Dsouza, Leena Nayak, Seema Crasta, Adeline Rodricks, Diana D'souza, Jovita D'cunha, Jyothi Menezes, Matilda Rego, Norbert D'sa, Maxim Lobo, Lawrence D'souza, Clement, Wilfred Fernandes, Josfred Fernandes, Albert Lobo, Nola D'souza and Charles Menezes.

President William Pinto thanked the gathering for reposing faith in him and electing him and assured that he would strive to work for the association. The handing over of duties by the present president, secretary and treasurer to the newly elected office bearers was carried out, followed by lunch and entertainment. The AGM ended at around 2 pm.
