Mangalore: Man dies in accident at Bykampady factory

Mangalore, Sep 17: A man working for a private factory which manufactures medicines at Bykampady Industrial area died in a private hospital in the city on Monday September 15.

Srinivas who hailed from Bihar had suffered serious burnt injuries in the accident which occurred inside the factory.

It is learnt that Srinivas while working during the night shift on Sunday, suffered burnt injuries after he came in contact with acid. In a report filed with the police, the factory management said that the he suffered these injuries as he tried to bring the liquid down without calling other assistance.

Another worker, Devaraj from Uttara Kannada district also suffered some injuries in the incident. He is recovering, it is said.

Srinivas was married and had children. Officials of the factory said that a decision about transporting the body of the deceased to his native place will be taken after holding discussions with his family members.

A case related to the incident has been registered in Panambur police station.
