Mangalore: Journalists stage protest against attack on TV journalists

Mangalore Sep 22: Dakshina Kannada TV journalists staged a protest against the attack on TV journalists allegedly by the workers of a unit manufacturing sulphur and non vegetarian oil in Chitagupa Village in Bidar district.

The protest was held near DC office here on Monday September 22.

It is said that on Sunday workers of a unit allegedly manufacturing unit of sulphur and non vegetarian oil, attacked TV journalists who had been there on their duty.

The incident was widely condemned throughout the state.

Speaking during the protest, a senior TV journalist Tharanath Kapikad demanded the government to take stringent action against the culprits and provide protection to journalists from the evils of society.

A memorandum concerning the incident was submitted to deputy commissioner during the protest.
